Giampietro's for Great Calzones

Our favorite place to eat in Breckenridge for taste, atmosphere, and value has to be Giampietro Pasta & Pizzeria. The restaurant is tiny, seating only about 20-30 at the most, and often has a wait in the busy season. Our favorite is the calzone, a virtual medium pizza folded over on itself that serves two and is a fantastic deal at around $9.00 depending on whether or not you add extra toppings. Our typical choice is something like feta, spinach, pepperoni, and anchovies. I can't wait for the next one.

Their pizzas tend to be on the thin size, large, and full of toppings. Don't get the extra cheese... it's not necessary. For a light meal, pair a slice of pizza with your favorite toppings with a Greek salad.

If you're looking for good Italian dishes they have those, too. No one I've been in there with has been disappointed by the mussels in basil and olive oil, the spaghetti, or the manicotti, depending on what is on the specials list. Add a pint of Fat Tire or a house red wine and you're sure to have a delicious meal.
