Benjamin's Story

Ben hasn't yet begun to sit on his own, but he's already outgrowing his playset. We're worried that we'll find it dismantled by the big boy one of these mornings after his daily play session on it. He now is able to easily reach the butterflies that all teased him before.

Ben's aunt and uncle, Susan and Paul, are very nice and give him many cool toys and clothes. Here he is in a cool Ireland shirt, that I believe is from Ireland, with a puppy that they just sent. He actually wears that shirt a lot but we don't have many good photos of it! We'll have to make sure we take some before he out grows it!

Amy really liked playing dress up with Ben, I hear. Here he is in the latest hip-hop style.

J and Ben went to Laramie to visit Stephen, Anne, Amy, and Lisa. While there, the Herberts discovered that Ben doesn't keep his hands off of anything anymore, including coffee cups! I hear that they were pretty amused with the little guy.

Alright, Ben says, it's time to go back to the airport. This trip has just been too much for me!

Benjamin says: Dad dipped my toes in the COLD Pacific water. Let me tell you... I'm not so sure why these people are into all these cold water sports! Snowboarding, sledding, and surely surfing, too!

We took Ben to Ocean Beach. Although dressed to party, he didn't really seem thrilled with the sun and wind. He was a good sport, though and we got some cute photos. He'll probably be surfing here in a few years!

Here's Ben right after a bath and a swim in the pool at the hotel. He looked so cute, I couldn't resist taking some photos.

Ben makes more friends every day. Here he is at lunch with Jody. Right before a waitress stole him away for show and tell around the restaurant. A few years older and he would have been doing dishes!

We were hanging out in Tiburon waiting for Jody and Jeanette took some nice shots of us. Can you believe that little belly?

On a trip to San Francisco (Ben's third airline trip), he and mom went to the Japanese Gardens. I'm not sure what Ben thought of all the funny looking buildings!

He's rapidly becoming a well traveled kid.

Jeanette is having fun dressing up Benjamin in all the fun clothes that people have sent him. I believe this shirt came from Pauline and John and the cap from Grandma.

Jeanette and Ben went to the public pools with Ben and the other kids this summer. On this particular day, I joined them at the local pool and we had fun.

This tubby little baby has an appetite like a horse. He even eats like one... just about any vegetables or fruits he can get his pudgy little hands on.

Benjamin is nearly as big as his playmat! On this particular hot day he was happy to cool it with a sippy cup and stare up at the butterflies.

He's getting so big. He can reach the top of the playset and virtually hangs off of the bars!
