Jeanette Leaves San Francisco

In 2001, after dating for about 3 months, we took a trip together to Greece. Pretty daring, we booked only the first night and the couple of nights in Santorini. We had a great trip, which was good especially because we were engaged by then! Jeanette wrote the first journal entry, but that was it. My trip began with a fairly humorous conversation with my sister Anita. Her views on life, men, etc. are very funny when coupled with three hours of sleep and a 5:30 AM wake-up call. I made it onto the plane and had a nice flight into Denver except for a bumpy ride and landing. Chris was waiting for me at the gate. It was so nice to see him. We were both a little nervous (the last time we had seen each other was three weeks before when we became engaged), but that quickly subsided once we reached the car. Our communication was as great as ever! I'm such a lucky girl. We left the airport and headed into downtown Denver to meet with Emily Busch, our wedding rings' designer. The appointment went well and proved, once again, how similar Chris and I really are. We made a quick stop by Chris' apartment adn then headed back to the airport. Traffic delays, full parking lots, and full shuttles all conspired to put us at the check-in counter 25 minutes prior to flight time. Thanks to a very nice staff behind the Lufthansa counter, we were allowed to check in and the flight was closed right after we boarded. We were both very relieved. The flight turned out to be delayed by an hour due to faulty toilets! We were happy to have them fixed. Once in the air, things went well. Chris and I shared some after dinner drinks which reminded us of a prior evening we spent together - I now refer to it as the "Irish Mist evening." Chris loves to tease me about it. I'll stop here as we are landing in Frankfurt and will need to connect to our next flight to Athens. We're almost there!
